Meet Our Board

unnamed (2)_edited_edited.jpg

I grew up in a small town in southeastern Minnesota and learned about L’Arche in college.  After graduating, I spent two years living in a L’Arche community, where I met my husband.  We moved to the Twin Cities in 2012 and soon began connecting with others interested in growing L’Arche in the Twin Cities.  We live in Saint Paul with our four children, and I work in higher education on training, consulting, and research projects to increase the inclusion of people with disabilities within their communities.

I grew up in Minneapolis and now live in St. Paul, with stints in North Carolina, Canada, and Washington State in between. Upon coming home in 2014, I joined the group of people working to found L’Arche in Minnesota. I work as a chaplain in assisted living and memory care, and delight in recognizing and celebrating the beauty and gifts of others.

I’m from Seattle and began visiting the L’Arche Seattle community as a child with a church youth group. After meeting my wife, who is from St. Paul, on the West coast, we moved here in 2016. I’m a special education teacher in St. Paul and I work with students with autism.

I’m from northern MN, but was able to spend some life-altering years with L’Arche in Vancouver, BC.  I am also a special education teacher, mostly working with kiddos who are deafblind and/or have autism.  I am so excited to see this community grow and have an impact in the Twin Cities.

MN has been home for more than 30 years. My first experience with a L’Arche community was sitting down to a Tuesday night dinner with 15 or so people telling about their day, laughing, sharing and ending with prayers from the heart. L’Arche has become a special place for me - a place of acceptance, caring and belonging. I am grateful for L’Arche and excited that we can be community here in the Greater TC area!

My daughter & son-in-law are assistants in L’Arche Greater DC
